Professional Overview |
|
Twenty-seven
years of experience and increasing responsibilities in managing intelligence
operations, technicians, field engineers, technical support and training
departments. Using a “do-as-I-do” approach to team management, I have been
hands-on engaged in all the aspects that make operations, technical sales
and customer support robust, responsive and results driven, including
business justification, program development, hiring and managing for
success. My leadership philosophy, “take care of your people and the
mission will take care of itself” has produced teams who are loyal,
enthusiastic, tenacious, self-motivated and willing to take on more
responsibilities to improve the business and organization. |

Position History------------------- |

Manager
and Director of Security Engineers, Support and Training. Richardson, Texas
August 2000 - August 2003 |
As a Manager of Pre-Sales Technical Security Engineers
I directed daily technical operations and provided technical training and
leadership for up to 27 Security engineers based throughout North America,
Europe and Asia. To improve pre-sales customer interaction and
understanding with our products, I developed a traveling equipment bundle
which each engineer could easily hand carry to demonstrate the full range of
Intrusion Inc. network security products to include live operations in a
customers network, and productized the bundle for sale to Resellers and
Value Added Partners. Additionally, I created an internal web site to
assist in the rapid dissemination of technical information and files to the
entire Sales and Engineering staff. Without any budget, I managed its
migration into a customer web-based support portal providing global access
to product updates and technical information. I also pioneered the use of
recorded demonstrations of our products to improve customer experience in
setting up, configuring and maintaining product software. I also setup,
maintained and managed secured ftp and ssh services that were critical for
Intrusion’s “live update” features. As a result of my unfunded efforts,
company support revenues increased by 33% per quarter since the inception of
the programs. I directed and managed the development of a revenue-producing
training facility and staff at the headquarters to provide comprehensive,
hands-on equipment based training on Intrusion’s 4 different product lines
which resulted in improved customer satisfaction and knowledge of our
products. By understanding customer interaction with our products as well
as my own internal experience, I was a key contributor throughout the
product development process to include development prioritization, release
scheduling, Quality Control and failure analysis. |

Team
Lead and Supervisor Enterprise and Front Line Support. Dallas, Texas
May 1999 - August 2000 |
As an
Enterprise Support Account Manager (ESAM) for Network Associates McAfee
Antivirus products I was responsible for technical support for up to 12
Fortune 500 companies employing McAfee Antivirus products by providing
time-sensitive updates and daily customer interaction in a pro-active mode
on a 24x7 schedule. In recognition of my accomplishments and customer
satisfaction, I was promoted first to Team Lead responsible for directing up
to 10 ESAMs supporting over 150 Fortune 500 companies and then to Supervisor
of Front Line Support for the Network Associates PGP product line. As Team
Lead in McAfee Enterprise Support, I focused on providing and improving
support tools and reporting mechanisms to further improve quality of service
to customers. As Supervisor of Front Line Support for PGP, I organized and
developed three technical support teams and supervised the daily operations
and the three Team Leads in providing customer support on the PGP, CyberCop,
and Gauntlet product lines. I developed Supervisor and Team Lead “Job
Books” which detailed all the individual and team operational, reporting,
and support tasks and implemented weekly phone queue monitoring of customer
calls to review with individual support agents for quality control and
individual agent support skill improvement. |
