Our German Shorthaired Pointers
(GSP)

Our German Shorthaired Pointer interest began in 1989, when we decided to investigate a second breed to add to our dog activities. Being a hunting enthusiast and outdoorsman, Willie was interested in a dog that had dual interest in birds and fur-bearing game. Marilyn was interested in a dog that was inclined to obedience, as well as possessing style and elegance for the show ring. Our first GSP was Ch. Impressive Gone With the Win, C.D., JH. ‘Tara’ achieved all three titles (conformation Ch., obedience C.D., and hunting, JH) the same year and before reaching her second birthday. In addition, Tara won a Best in Specialty Show from the Veteran Class at the age of 7 years. Tara was bred one time to CH Impressive’s Texas Zephyr, J.H. and produced 4 champions and two C.D.’s from this litter. A son, Ch. Willmar Double Barrel, C.D., has produced 2 champions to date. A daughter, Ch Willmar Double Knit, C.D. (‘Polly’), won 2 Best in Sweepstakes during her campaign to championship and several breed wins, group placements, and Best of Opposite in Speciality Show in a short specials career. On March 2 2000, Polly had nine puppies (5 boys, 4 girls) sired by Ch Minado’s Oxton Grief’s Encore (Jake), owned by Jean Bradburn Galli, Margaret Sylvester, and Benny Conboy, and campaigned by Benny Conboy. To date, 6 of these puppies have achieved the title of Conformation Champion, earning their mother the honor of German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America Top Show Producing Dam for 2001.  Our GSP legacy continues through a son, Ch. Willmar Texas Independence Day, and a daughter, Ch. Willmar La Belle de Tejas.

Our goal is to produce a healthy, quality GSP with a companion temperament and the versatility to excel in all venues of performance as well as conformation.

All of our Shorthairs are OFA certified.
